YBhg. Dato' Sri Latifah binti Haji Mohd Tahar was born on August 10, 1961. YBhg. Dato’ Sri obtained her Bachelor of Law degree from University of Malaya in 1985 and Masters Degree in Law from University of Kent in Canterbury, United Kingdom in 1998. YBhg. Dato' Sri Latifah binti Haji Mohd Tahar joined the Judicial and Legal Service in 1985.
YBhg. Dato’ Sri served in various government departments and agencies ever since joining the Legal and Judicial Service. She began her service as a Magistrate from 1985 to 1989 at the Magistrate Court of Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh. Later, she was appointed as a Solicitor in the Public Trustee Department up to 1992 and was appointed as Senior Federal Counsel at the Inland Revenue Department until 1993. Commencing from 1994 up to 1997, YBhg. Dato’ Sri was appointed as the Legal Advisor for the Ministry of Education Malaysia. YBhg. Dato’ Sri then served as an Assistant Parliamentary Draftsman at the Attorney General's Chambers from 1998 to 2000 and was later transferred to the Co-operative Development Department as Legal Adviser from March 2000 to 2001. YBhg. Dato' Sri held the position as Sessions Court Judge at the Shah Alam Sessions Court since 2001 up to 2010. On May 16, 2010, YBhg. Dato' Sri was appointed as the Director of the Selangor State Court and was then promoted as the Registrar of the Court of Appeal beginning 15 December 2013. YBhg. Dato’ Sri began serving as the Chief Registrar of the Federal Court two years later commencing on 16 December 2015.
YBhg. Dato’ Sri is married to YBhg. Dato' Azmi bin Mohd Ali and they are blessed with six children.
