Registrar's Office of the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak

The Registrar's Office of the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak is the division which responsible for the administration of the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak. The Registrar of the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak is headed by a Registrar of the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak and assisted by a Senior Assistant Registrar. 

Job functions:

 

To issue internal directions relating to the implementation of the Judicial administration in accordance with the direction of The Honourable Chief Justice and Chief Registrar's Office. 

To supervise the administration of the High Courts and the Subordinate Courts of Sabah and Sarawak. 

To issue practice directions and regulations as directed by The Honourable Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak.

To plan and monitor that the implementation of administrative policies in the Sabah and Sarawak courts are in line with the directions of The Honourable Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak and the Chief Registrar's Office of the Federal Court of Malaysia from time to time. 

To plan and supervise the needs of the Sabah and Sarawak Courts including the planning and implementation of training programs, exchange of officers, and promotions. 

To plan the physical requirements of Courts in Sabah and Sarawak as to monitor the implementation of development projects under the provisions of the Legal Affairs Division (LAD) and Palaca of Justice (POJ).

Coordinate the annual performance reports of officers and staff under the supervision of the Registrar's Office of the Sabah and Sarawak High Court.

Attending meetings at the State and Federal level including at the Palace of Justice (POJ).

Hold meetings with the Sabah Law Socierty and Advocates Associations of Sarawak to obtain feedback for the purpose of improving the delivery system in judicial functions at the Courts of Sabah and Sarawak.

Take appropriate action on complaints received from public against advocates and solicitor practising in Sabah and Sarawak,

To issue annual Practising Certificate to advocates and solicitor in Sabah dan Sarawak.

To prepare and issue Orders to newly admitted lawyers, as well as Ad Hoc Admission and Exemption Orders, after the matter has been heard by the Right Honourable the Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak.

Hold meetings with judicial officers under supervision to obtain feedback for the delivery system in judicial assignments in Sabah and Sarawak.

To preside over disciplinary proceedings involving officers and staffs of the Sabah and Sarawak Courts.
